#2 Animation a Week

Finished my second animation last night at about 3am in the morning. Why do I do these things to myself?

There are a lot of things wrong with this animation. The flickering is getting out of control, I have to fiddle around with my lighting settings again. I was frame averaging, but that didn’t seem to help. May have to see about the shutter speed and try again for the next one.

And at 14 seconds, what happens? The light creeps in. I didn’t see that at all when I was first animating it.

And it took a long time to do the dancing, so that’s why it took me 5 and some hours for only 431 frames. The stikfas started falling apart as I was moving it, but his movements are so large that it didn’t matter if it didn’t line up exactly. Instead of moving Manny a millimeter at a time, it was 2 centimeters!

And the guitar is BLACK, which is dumb on a black background, because I can’t find the pink guitar. My children lost it. Kids today! Playing with their dad’s toys! When I was a kid, my dad had an electronics room of wonder filled with small bits of digitry and whatnot that fascinated me because it was just a crazy room of magic. But I wasn’t allowed in there. Currently, I have the lego/stikfas room, and my rotten kids go in there all the time because they are spoiled!

I do like the dancing though, it lined up quite well. I was trying to line up for 120 bpm song, and I guess Pure Cane Lover is a 120 bpm song. At least, for the intro before I cut it out.

Now I’m sorely tempted to do a video for Pure Cane Lover, but that would be animating 6 characters at a time for the chorus. That would kill me.
