Big sister

It’s been over a week now since Zoe joined our world. You have been an amazing big sister and that has been very wonderful for us to watch. When Zoe cries, you like to sing songs to her (especially Baa, Baa, Black Sheep). You want to hold her and you tell her all the time that you love her. You help Mommy give her baths.I know it is a little hard on you. Now life doesn’t just revolve around you my little dolly. At night time you tend to be a bit tearful and sad. Several times you have pleaded that you are lonely in your room and would like to join Zoe in our bedroom. Just don’t forget when we are busy with your little sister that we love you too!Tonight Uncle Steve and Auntie Hiroko came over for supper. That was a lot of fun as you got to spend time playing with Alana. Auntie Hiroko says she is going to come another day and leave Emma here. Then she’ll take you and Alana off to have fun. It is good to have Aunties to play with you. Uncle Dan came last weekend to see us and he played with you. Auntie Becky and Uncle Aldo have come over lots and pay lots of attention to Ekko. Right now Grandpa and Grandma are here and that is fun for you too. You get to spend time with Maggie the dog and you love that. Today you fed her a bone and I’m not sure who was happier about it.Daddy and Mommy took you to the library on Saturday. Grandma kept Zoe. The lady at the library helped fill out the form and give you your own library card. That was quite exciting. Then the thing that excited you the most was that she also gave you a stamp on your hand of a bookworm. You like stamps. We got a bunch of new books to read and Daddy has been reading them all to you. Right now you are a big fan of Curious George stories. We’ll have to do something special tomorrow to my girlie because you were such a brave big girl tonight. You went to bed on your own. That is hard for you but you did it! Yeah! Don’t forget we love you dolly. You are our precious Ekko. – Love, Mommy

  1. Hey Ekko,

it’s so great to hear that you are so brave! It’s hard to suddenly have a little sister and a somehow changed world when you’re not even three. It’s wonderful that you love your little Zoe. And it’ll be great when she’ll grow up a bit and you two can have proper playing fun!

I love you lots, Ekko! And I miss you!
