Easter Time

Happy Easter my big little girl.  You are so excited.  Or as you say "I'M SO E-CITED"!  The other night we painted eggs with Auntie Becky.  Once again it was hard to say which one of you was having the most fun!  They look beautiful in a basket on the kitchen table.  We will have our Easter egg hunt tomorrow at Uncle Steve's house when we go over there for dinner.  We also made matching Easter dresses for you and Zoe.  You thought we should also make matching dress and suit for Mommy and Daddy.  Mommy's dress is half done, but Daddy wasn't convinced about wearing a purple suit.

Last week Auntie Kerry was here and you had a grand old time.  She went with us to Riverdale farm one day.  Another day we went to the zoo.  That was pretty cool.  Your favourite thing this time was watching the polar bears swimming.  On the last morning before she left we went to the tea shop for tea and scones.  You are such a little girl.  The lady at the tea shop knows us now and was quite happy to see you arrive.  There's a little table with two little chairs, and a set of tea cups on the table for you.  They are all your size and you enjoy it so much.  My little tea granny.  Occassionally you ask for "German tea".  (That's the name you have given to the tea we drank a lot when Sara and Deitmar were here!  We like that tea a lot!)

On Thursday this week we went up to Bruce Mill's Conservation area. They were making maple syrup and having their festival.  Tori and Auntie Becky came with us.  Hard to say what was the most fun.  For the first time you got to ride a pony. That was pretty exciting.  You picked which one you wanted (smart girl, you picked the sleepy one) and the look on your face made us all feel like the $3 fee was no longer a rip off!  There was  a wagon pulled by a pair of Clydesdales and we had to take that wagon ride twice.  You loved catching sap on your finger fresh out of the spigout.  Of course the part up in the bush were they had buckets of sap boiling on the fire was pretty neat.  There was an older man watching the fire and he had cooked himself some potatoes in the coals.  You casually mentioned "I'm kinda hungry" until he gave you a slice of potato.  It was so yummy that you kept mentioning "I'm still kinda hungry" until he gave you another and another and another.  I think you ate half a potato!  We'll have to go camping this summer love and cook potatoes in the fire.  And the fresh maple syrup was so incredible that when he gave us little glasses to drink some out of, you drank your's and then finished mine.  That's my girl!  Every meal since then you seem to want pancakes.

Happy Easter darling.  Remember Mommy and Daddy love Ekko! – Mommy
