Frank’s Zoo

In my quest to teach my kids the joy of gaming, I finally introduced Frank’s Zoo to them. Well, Zoe still has to realize we don’t eat cards, but Ekko is getting the hang of it.

Zoe loves the fox. She gets upset when the fox is played, or it’s taken out of her hand. She cries. So I drew a fox on one of the blank cards, and that seemed to have placated her. She’s spoiled.

Anyway, I try to start off small. Ekko is trying to learn the basics of the game, how some animals beat other animals. Today, she learned how two of one animal beats one of the same animal. We were clipping along, and then Mommy went to take Zoe to bed.

Zoe comes climbing down the stairs, and I ask, “Where’s mommy?” Zoe replied, “She’s asleep.”

So much for our game playing. But hopefully, you can learn how the cards have value, and you don’t get rid of your highest valued cards first. I’m not going too deep into the game, I’m not worrying about collecting Hedgehogs or Lions, nor am I worrying about partners or even Mosquito pairing, but you are getting the handle of the basics.

The only problem you have is holding all the cards. With three players, it’s 13 cards, and that’s a lot for your hands. I was considering buying one of those card holders, but I found this website on making a CD Card Holder.

I’m not much of a crafts person, but I got some super glue (mommy keeps it in the fridge, a strange place for glue if you ask me, but I trust her ability to read instructions) and made on.

Now I have a CD Card holder that sticky and has my skin all over it. That really hurt. Super glue sure lives up to its name. I got the stuff all over my hands too. I sure hope it didn’t get all over the floor or something.
