Happy girl

Life is so much more fun with you in it!  Today you are a little bit fussy because you have a runny nose but we’re still having fun.  After we dropped Daddy off at work we went to Petsmart.  It is a store that is guaranteed to make you happy.  After playing with a couple of puppies, and admiring a whack of birds and fish, you left the store smiling.  We had to buy Nibiki a new toy.  By the sounds of it, she’s enjoying it now! When we got home, you helped mommy plant some spring flowers in the pot on our porch.  Inspite of being so much like your daddy you can still appreciate flowers.  I’m so glad! =)

Our weekend was super busy and fun.  Last night we went to Alana and Emma’s house for supper.  Auntie Becky and Mommy had fixed up a whole bunch of Easter eggs for you girls.  Daddy and Uncle Aldo hid them around the backyard there, and then you two had to find them.  I think Daddy took about 50 pictures of you guys doing it!.  The glee  of “I found one” as you two kept exclaiming was worth all the effort of trying to fit too big of things into tiny egg shells.  As soon as you guys finished opening all the eggs, you both plaster Auntie Becky’s face with the stickers out of the eggs.   She was very pretty!  When we got into the car you were exclaiming about “that was a good supper”.  You were happy because it had some of your favourite foods all at once – shrimp, ham, lemon mousse and whipped cream!

I don’t know what you and Alana were talking about together but Uncle Steve told me that Alana says “Ekko say there’s no baby in her mommy’s tummy.”  Has Alana been filling your head with stories of how tough it is to be a big sister?

At church yesterday I stopped to do something at the back and you headed up the aisle.  Grandpa Preston asked you how you were doing.  You told him “good” and the proceeded to explain that Mommy was at the back but you were going to sit down.  He thought it was cute.  Then Bern held out his hand to shake hands with you and wish you a happy Easter ( Bern is close to 80 I think).  You very seriously wished him a happy Easter in return.  I tell you, you have all the older folks eating out of your hand at that church!  This was the first Sunday you took off with all the kids and didn’t try to drag mommy with you too.  Duke went to take all the kids to show them something and you hollered to me “following Duke” and off you went.  It was great!  Such a grown up girl.

Saturday night we painted eggs.  They turned out beautiful.  What an artist.  Of course you needed to have a bath after to get all the pretty colours off your arms.  I think Auntie Becky might have needed one too!

So many fun times this weekend.  I don’t want to bore anybody else that might read these letters.  But afterall, this is sort of a log for you to read some day.  I want you to know how much happiness and fun you brought to our lives.

We love you our dolly – Mommy

    Hi Ekko,

Life is much happier with you in it! I love you so much, my girl. My favorite thing is when I say, “I love you, Ekko” and you say, “I love you too, Auntie”. It was lots of fun hunting Easter eggs with you and Lan. Auntie sure loves her girls!

See you again soon Baby Girl,
    Love, Auntie
